The PRTC is dedicated to research into the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as Psoriasis and Acne inversa/Hidradenitis suppurativa, the development of new therapy concepts, and the optimal medical care for the patients.

The Psoriasis Research and Treatment Center (PRTC) is an interdisciplinary center at the Clinic of Dermatology, Venereology, and Allergology and the Institute of Medical Immunology, Charité. The Center focuses on chronic inflammatory diseases, in particular Psoriasis and Acne inversa/Hidradentitis suppurativa.
The main goals are to elucidate the pathogenesis of the diseases and to develop innovative therapeutic concepts. The center also offers special consultation hours for patients with Psoriasis and Acne inversa.
The PRTC currently consists of approximately 20 employees with scientific and/or clinical backgrounds. Their interdisciplinary cooperation ensures a high level of synergy and translation.
The concept of the PRTC is reflected in its structure, which covers three working foci:
